  • 1/2 Cup of Fonio Grain
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Milk, Water or Milk alternative
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Raisins (optional)
  • Brown Sugar, Maple Syrup or other Sweetener
  • Instructions

  • Pour 1/2 cup of Fonio Grain into a medium-sized pot. Add raisins (optional) and cinnamon (optional)
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of milk, water or milk alternative. Bring to a boil.
  • Turn down to medium-low heat and let simmer until liquid is absorbed (about 5 minutes).
  • Add brown sugar, maple syrup or other sweetener to desired taste.
  • Stir from time to time to prevent porridge from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Leave to stand for 2 minutes before serving.
